BREXIT – Current Guidelines for UK Haulage

Current guidelines for UK haulage & Brexit

The UK left the European Union on 31 January 2020 and the first phase began where companies importing standard goods have six months to complete customs declaration and pay tariffs. Export declarations and UK exit Safety and Security (ENS) declarations are required.

From April 2021 (second phase) all products of animal origin, regulated plants and plant products will need pre-notification and all relevant health documentation.

From July 2021 (third phase) traders moving all goods will have to make full customs declarations at the point of importation and pay relevant tariffs.

Any company importing or exporting goods between Great Britain & the EU needs to agree and confirm who is responsible for how the goods are moved and who will submit all the paperwork on behalf of importers and exporters. No lorry should attempt to cross the GB/EU border without all necessary border paperwork.

COVID-19 – Precautions In Place

Our precautions in line with UK government guidelines to reduce risks of Covid-19

In line with the very latest guidelines published by the UK Government, we conduct COVID-19 Risk Assessments for our haulage operations.

This involves us ensuring that all our staff (office and drivers) are fully briefed and trained in the regular cleaning of vehicles and the office, constant hand washing and hygiene procedures.

All our staff maintain a 2m distance at the depot and also when meeting customers, suppliers and transportation officials. PPE (gloves and face masks) are used to clean surfaces and interact with customers where required.

We ask that all our customers and suppliers adhere to social distancing when interacting with our staff and drivers, and wear gloves/face masks as appropriate.

If you would like to know more information about our Covid-19 precautions, please contact us.

Thank you for your cooperation.
